Angels Giving Tree Helping Kids at Christmas

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

As we approach Thanksgiving and the Christmas holiday season it is easy to forget that not everyone has it as good as you do. In today’s economy those that are unable to afford even a Christmas tree, much less something under it, is higher than ever. This also effects the amount of donations received by charities set up to help the underprivileged. Luckily, for a relatively few families, Angels Giving Tree is there to help.

Established in 2011 and run by a couple adult industry veterans, Angels Giving Tree has the goal of helping as many families with children at the holidays as possible. Last year they raised $10,000 and helped give a better Christmas to about 200 children. Angels Giving Tree is a registered Not For Profit organization in Florida and they have applied for their 501(c)3 with the IRS.

The concept was started several years ago when Pattyecake and Todd “SexToyKing” Oster held their annual toy drive. In 2011 Todd died and Forest of Silver Cloud Design decided to take the ball and run with it. Local charitable organizations provide suggestions of families with children that need help and Angels Giving Tree uses the donations they receive to find and deliver the gifts to those that will truly appreciate it. Photos from the FSC Summit 2012

Thursday, November 8th, 2012

These photos are from the first ever FSC Summit, put on by the Free Speech Coalition and held at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills. As this adult industry summit was held just two days after LA County Measure B was passed, the timing was ideal and probably contributed to the high attendance even though there did not seem to be a lot of pre-show advertising. Topics discussed included emerging world markets, the story behind Measure B and what will happen now as well as diversification of marketing of adult products. I had a prior engagement scheduled so I could not stay until the end, but there will be an awards presentation later.

I only heard about this event two or three days ago so I was pleasantly surprised at the attendance which seemed to be between 200-300 people. The panelists included the lobbyists that presented their ideas on what is on the horizon for the adult industry. One might be surprised to learn that the sky is not falling . . . yet. The fight against Measure B proved that the adult industry has friends in the mainstream, but they need to discontinue the policy of trying to stay under the radar. Adult is an industry, and it is our job to make sure other businesses know it. (more…)

2012 Webmaster Access – Amsterdam begins

Thursday, September 20th, 2012

The adult B2B trade show, Webmaster Access Amsterdam will be beginning shortly at the Park Hotel, and yes, I am going to miss it. I have been going to Amsterdam every year since 2007 and have truly enjoyed every experience. As it happens, I have things to do here at home so I will have to settle for looking through my photos of shows past and enjoy the memories.

The Webmaster Access schedule looks like it will be a good show with a great mix of education, networking and parties. One of the highlights of the show has to be the 2012 GFY Awards at the Little Buddha Bar on Saturday night. It was a total blast last year. I was nominated for the GFY Hall of Fame, but I have my doubts that is going to happen. If it does, I will have to hope someone retrieves the award for me.

These photos are a few from the 2011 Webmaster Access. (more…)
