11th Annual Cybersocket Awards Review

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Yes, I know I am a little late with this review, but there is a reason for that. Prior to this review, every one I have done has been slanted on the positive side. I am sure I mentioned the bad with the good, but for the most part, every review has been positive. I guess the only way to ensure that people realize my reviews are based on my real feelings rather than sucking up to the event’s sponsors. This will be the review that shows I may be honest, to a fault.

I have attended several Cybersocket events, and in fact, last year’s Cybersocket Web Awards was the first event that I added a review on. While last year’s event was well organized, and in a great venue, this year I was not as impressed. I am not going to point fingers of blame, because I do not know if issues were caused by the owners of the venue or something else, but I most certainly would not recommend using it again.

The problems began with just getting into the place. I had requested a press pass so I could cover the event thoroughly. I was given the impression that all was well, until I arrived at the venue. It did not matter what kind of pass I had, I was going to the back of the line. It made trying to shoot the red carpet futile as there were about 200 people stuffed into a 10 square foot area. I gave it a shot, but it soon became apparent that this was not going to work. (more…)

Photos from the FSC protest against XXX

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Wednesday, I drove up to San Francisco to join others in the adult industry in participating in the Free Speech Coalition’s (FSC) protest against the implementation of the .XXX sTLD. The protest was held today, Thursday, in front of the Westin St. Francis Hotel where the 40th International Public ICANN Meeting was being held. I would estimate about 30 people from the adult industry came to show their support. A press conference was held afterward. We will find out Friday, whether our efforts were all for naught or not. These photos are from around the hotel, the ICANN meeting, the protest and press conference.

The FSC is requesting that those against the implementation of the .XXX sTLD, that use Twitter, to please use it to voice your disapproval. You can find FSC’s tweets at #FSC, and they can follow them at @FSCArmy.

Photos from SINdustry at Industry red carpet

Sunday, March 6th, 2011

Saturday evening was the closing party for Industry Nightclub in Hollywood. I can not tell you why, but they brought in porn superstars Tori Black and Alexis Texas, and a ton of other hot chicks, some courtesy of LA Direct Models and had a big party. Unfortunately, they felt cameras were dangerous inside, so these are all red carpet shots. I have a plan for the next time.

If you see your photo here and would like your name added to the caption, please register, then contact me. I will give you instructions on how to make that happen.
