IFFOR releases Green Paper on reducing online piracy

Monday, September 17th, 2012

I have just received a copy of a Green Paper released by the International Foundation for Online Responsibility (IFFOR) that provides six suggestions on ways online adult companies can help themselves when it comes to reducing and combating online piracy of their adult content. There is no question that online piracy is one of the biggest issues for adult companies, and while some of the suggestions seem like common sense, sometimes it takes a reminder.

The six suggestions are as follows:

1) Register the copyright for your content
2) Watermark or fingerprint your content
3) Engage a DMCA agent
4) Report abuse to search engines
5) Report abuse to payment processors

Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention 2012 Day Two

Saturday, February 25th, 2012

Today was the second day of Adult Entertainment Virtual Convention 2012 and it was even more impressive today. There were definitely more adult webmasters there today, which was a pleasant surprise. Even though today was billed as a B2C event with some meet and greets with a couple porn stars, it was really tailored to adult webmasters and those that wanted to learn more about the process.

The day started with an interview by Colin Rowntree from Wasteland with Christian Mann from Evil Angel Video. That was followed by a Webmaster 101 panel and a workshop on Producing Porn From Start to Finish put on by Girlfriends Films. The education portion of the day ended with a panel on XXX Domains and the future of the Adult Industry, featuring Diane Duke of the FSC and Vaughn Liley of ICM. This was followed by the Adult Entertainment Virtual Awards and After Party. The show goes on for one more day, so if you are not doing anything, stop on by. (more…)

These photos are from day one of the adult Internet b-to-b conference, XBIZEU 2011. I arrived on the first day, but the cab ride from the airport was very long and as a result, I arrived a little later than planned. When I arrived I could see that the seminars had respectable sized audiences, but when the .XXX debate between Diane Duke of the Free Speech Coalition and Stuart Lawley of ICM Registry began, the room quickly filled. Unfortunately, not much in the way of useful information was provided.

We did have the pleasure of a visit from a group of British feminists that decided to hold a protest out front of the Bloomsbury Street Hotel, to the chagrin of the hotel and the delight of any show attendees that happened to be outside at the time. The evening ended with two parties. First, Porn at the Pub, sponsored by Epoch, Hustler and Gamma at the Carpenters Arms pub. Later, CellCast & Peekaboo TV sponsored the London Opening Bash, which was a great time (understatement). (more…)
