These photos were taken Thursday at the Andaz West Hollywood where the 2015 adult B-to-B trade show XBIZ 360 was held. The combination of great weather, people preparing for the evening’s XBIZ Awards and those that already headed off to Las Vegas for the AVN show resulted in a rather sparse turnout of attendees on Thursday afternoon.

Thursday did offer several seminars, demonstrations and panels for those that stuck around. Topics included building paysites, gay porn, adult PR and hot genres. The keynotes dealt with the Future of Online Adult Entertainment and the Future of Adult Film. Suffice it to say, that even with tubes and piracy the industry is not going anywhere.

All-in-all, it was a pretty good show with the right mixture of business and partying. I do not know what the final attendance numbers were primarily because there were a lot of distractions for out of town visitors so I never really experienced any time that everyone was at one venue. From the conversations I had, most seemed to feel they were able to conduct the business they needed to get done.

Thursday was day two of the adult entertainment B-to-B event, XBIZ 360 being held at the W Hollywood Hotel. Today was the second day of the three day event and the first of the two dedicated to the digital media (Internet) and film content (video) sides of the industry. The day began with a couple of hours of speed networking for the Internet side while the video side had a two seminars; one was about 2257 inspections and the other was about condoms in porn. There were various panels and workshops throughout the day as well as keynotes by Anthony Previte of FriendFinder Networks and Scott Taylor of New Sensations.

After a brief interlude the main floor of the hotel was ready for the mix and meet; I think it was there that it became clear that this was a very well attended event. Any speculation that the timing of this show was all wrong were laid to rest, in my opinion anyway. (more…)

The 2014 edition of XBIZ 360 began Wednesday, January 22 at the W Hollywood Hotel, located at the world famous, Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood, California. The three day, B2B adult industry event will discuss topics of interest to everyone from brick and mortar adult product store owners to webmasters and adult film makers. It will culminate Friday with the 12th annual XBIZ Awards. Today was dedicated to the Pleasure Products Conference and the Adult Retail Conference. They dealt with such topics as Trends in E-commerce and the future of pleasure products. Both conferences had keynote speakers; Pleasure Products had Miroslav Slavic of LELO and the Retail Conference heard from Joel Kaminsky of Good Vibrations.

At the end of the day’s conference, the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) held their awards. A few of the recipients included Vivid Entertainment founder Steven Hirsch who received the Legacy Award and James Deen who was presented with the Positive Image Award. Gamelink was given the Internet Company of the Year Award with Wicked Pictures receiving the Benefactor of the Year Award. You can find all the recipients on the FSC website. (more…)
