Wednesday at XBIZ 2016

These photos were taken Wednesday afternoon at the adult B-to-B trade show, XBIZ Show 2016 which is being held at the Andaz West Hollywood. When I arrived there were various seminars being held; some of which were sparse in attendance and others that were standing room only. There was also the Visionary Keynote by Tim Vilenti which was very well attended.

The Mix & Meet Happy Hour almost seemed like a reunion of sorts with lots of old-timers showing up. People were definitely there to do business and there seems to be opportunities galore these days. If you aren’t doing anything tomorrow, you might want to stop by the Andaz. (more…)

Verified by Visa: It’s time has come

I remember the first time I attempted to make an online purchase and got a popup telling me I had to sign up for Verified by Visa; I immediately thought it was a phishing scam and backed away quickly. I have recently done some research and it appears that there was a time that Verified by Visa popups were phishing; but times have changed. With the implementation of EMV Compliance it is expected that there will be an increase in fraud attempts for online purchases, now is Verified by Visa’s time to shine.

On October 1 the major credit card companies, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express began shifting liability for credit card fraud to merchants that are not EMV-compliant. History has shown that EMV-compliance virtually eliminates credit card fraud and when the buyer uses a credit card with an RFID chip and the merchant has an EMV-compliant credit card terminal. While this is very good for brick and mortar businesses, history has also shown that when EMV-compliance helps greatly with purchases made face-to-face, there is also the potential for additional credit card fraud with relation to online credit card purchases. For those merchants relying solely on online purchases or brick and mortar businesses, Mobius Payments wants you to know that they now support Verified by Visa fraud protection. (more…)

The Phoenix Forum 2015 Photos – Saturday

These photos were taken Saturday at the 2015 Phoenix Forum which was held at the Tempe Mission Palms hotel. While Thursday and Friday were primarily education and networking with some entertainment thrown in; Saturday was primarily entertainment with a little education and lots of networking opportunities.

Included in this gallery are photos of the networking going on around the hotel and pool as well as the two panel sessions that were held, the Hockey Shootout sponsored by Traffic Junky, Beer Pong hosted by Flirt4Free & Mr. Skin and the Speedo Contest presented by Flirt4Free and Mr. Man. There are also photos of a small craft beer bottle share that we had after naked dodgeball, the Casino Noir Closing Party sponsored by ImLive and CCBill and the late night poker suites.
