PimpsPromo is headed back to Europe

Thursday, August 11th, 2011

PimpsPromo is coming back to the EU. I will be covering Webmaster Access in Amsterdam, NL; The European Summit in Prague, CZ and XBIZ EU in London, UK. While this will be my 5th visit to Amsterdam, this will be my first visit to Prague or London so I am looking forward to seeing these two venues.

Webmaster Access, Amsterdam will be held from September 16 through September 19. For the second straight year the show will be held at the Park Hotel. The adult webmaster B2B event will begin with the Dutch Webmaster Meeting, which starts at noon with a Meet Market and Speed Networking. You can visit their site to register and get more information. Highlights of the Webmaster Access show would include two speed networking sessions, a meet market and the XXX Smackdown: Stuart Lawley vs Tom Hymes panel. That should make for an interesting conversation. There will also be the 1st Annual GFY People’s Choice Awards, so that should be fun. Registration for Webmaster Access is currently €149.00, so order today.

Next up will be The European Summit which runs from September 20-23 at Hotel Praha in Prague, CZ. The European Summit was previously known as The Barcelona Summit, which I have attended on three occasions. If history has taught me anything, that is that Andreas and Walter put on a great show and do their best to ensure everyone’s needs are met. A quick look at their schedule shows that there is non-stop activity all day long without starting too early in the morning. YNOT will be continuing their Grand Prix Kart series and will have their first ever awards show. Seems like awards shows are getting popular. Registration for The European Summit is free for affiliates and €269 for company reps.

I will end my European tour with a new show put on XBIZ, XBIZ EU. XBIZ EU will be a three day event held at the Radisson Edwardian Bloomsbury in London, UK from September 23-25. XBIZ has a lot of experience putting on these shows, and they never fail to provide lots of business and educational opportunities. There will be speed networking and meet markets as well as the usual seminars and keynote speakers. In addition, there will be a debate between Diane Duke of the Free Speech Coalition and Stuart Lawley of ICM Registry about .XXX. You know this will be worth attending. Registration for XBIZ EU if free for affiliates and adult website owners that stay at the show hotel. All others it is €100 online or €200 at the door. (more…)

Webmaster Access Amsterdam 2010 Review

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

This was my fourth time attending Webmaster Access in Amsterdam. The first couple of times I attended, I have to admit, it was all about the party. After all, it is Amsterdam, right? After last year’s show, there were so many rumors going around about the future of Webmaster Access, I honestly was not sure that there would be a show in 2010. I was pleasantly surprised to see that attendance seemed to be higher this year than my prior visits. We arrived in Amsterdam late Friday evening. By the time we got to the hotel, it appeared rather deserted. Since Webmaster Access directly followed the Barcelona Summit, I began to wonder if having the two shows so close to each other time-wise was not a great idea. I learned that there was an off-premises party that most people were at. Since the party was on a boat and it was raining, we opted to going to our hotel, then finding something to eat.

Webmaster Access was held at the Park Hotel from Friday afternoon, September 24 through Sunday, September 26. There were three seminars a day, as well as speed networking, workshops and the obligatory cocktail parties. There were a couple boat parties on the canals, but I did not make it to either of them. I did stop by a party at Little Buddha that went on long into the early morning hours of Sunday.

The Venue

They moved this years show from the Radisson to the Park Hotel. I was not initially happy to hear this since I always get lost walking around Amsterdam, and I had just gotten comfortable with the old location. Luckily, there was plenty to do in the new neighborhood. Truth be told, there was so much going on at the show, I did not really have time to be a tourist, so getting lost was not an issue.

Time again for the European shows

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

It is that time of year again, when it is time to start planning for the adult webmaster B-to-B shows that are being held in Europe. The first show of interest is The Barcelona Summit, which will be followed by Webmaster Access in Amsterdam. The Barcelona Summit will be held September 21-24, 2010 at the Le Meridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa in Barcelona, Spain. Webmaster Access will be Held September 24-26 at the Park Hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The combination of having these two shows happening one after the other is great for those of us based in the United States. While some may find it difficult to justify the cost of a trans-Atlantic flight to attend one show, having both shows occur consecutively makes it difficult to not make the journey. I am a firm believer that coming to Europe to meet your potential clients shows them that you are serious about getting their business. I have traveled to Europe four times in the last few years and I always come away with new business, so I feel this confirms my opinion.

I will be representing PimpsPromo.com as well as GotWebHost.com on this trip. As usual, I will be photographing both shows. For anyone interested in purchasing banner spots on the galleries or watermarks on the pictures I have great deals available. For example, having your button on the photos can be had for as little as $2,000 per show. Banner spots above and below the photos can be done on a monthly or permanent basis. A quick check of Google will confirm that any show I shoot and post here ranks in the top five almost every time.

Since we have been checking out rates to fly from Chicago to Barcelona to Amsterdam and back to Chicago I will pass along a little tip. The average cost if we use the same airlines for all the destinations has been around $1,300 per person. If you book from the US to Barcelona, then from Amsterdam (or Germany if attending Oktoberfest) you can save almost $300 by utilizing Vueling Airlines to get you from Barcelona to Amsterdam. They have three flights a day that average about $100, so it makes sense to at least check them out.

For more information about The Barcelona Summit visit http://www.thebarcelonasummit.com. For more information about Webmaster Access Amsterdam, visit http://www.webmasteraccess.com/.

I hope to see you at one or both of the shows.
